On Sunday, May 25th, Ava Holt got to sit in her high chair for the first time. We have been meaning to transition Ava to her high chair from the Bumbo but haven't done so due to the high chair still being in its box in Ava's closet. The high chair was a gift from our friends, Keith and Jen, and it's a gift that will be used several times a day for the next year or so...thanks again for the wonderful and useful present, Keith and Jen!
Ava sat in her high chair with us as we ate lunch outside on our patio with my brother. She kept entertained with some of her toys and a few baby utensils and we were all able to eat lunch without having to juggle her around the table. It was marvelous! That night, Ava got to eat while sitting in her high chair for the first time. She did so great...although she kept trying to knock the spoon out of our hands so that her purees would spill onto the tray. Now that she has a tray in front of her, playing with spilled food is quite the pastime and she really enjoys running her fingers through her purees and making a mess.
Now that Ava's eating solids for dinner each night, she gets to sit in her high chair and eat at the dinner table like a big girl. We keep her high chair strapped to the chair all the time, so it's never in the way like traditional high chairs are. We are so glad we chose the Space Saver High Chair for Ava, as she gets to eat at the table with us and not off on her own like she would have to do with the big monster high chairs...not to mention it takes up very little space and is very easy to use.
