Ava's New Shades

Yesterday while we were out and about running errands, we stopped at Target to return the Wii I had bought Matt for his birthday. He thought the Wii was a great gift, but didn't know how much we would actually use it...as every spare moment of free time that he has after work or on the weekends he is either playing with Ava or running. I thought that we could use the Wii at night after Ava was asleep, but after reviewing our nighttime schedules (what we do once Ava is in bed) for a few weeks, we both realized that after watching our favorite shows that we've DVR'd, we would rather go to sleep than stay up to play a video game. I guess we're old and no fun anymore! So, I returned the Wii to Target and the person behind me at the customer service desk bought it before it ever made it back to the electronics department shelf. Apparently I had made her the happiest person on Earth that day. The Wii would have been a fun thing to play, but after the price of the console, the accessories, and all the games I had bought to go along with it, it was kind of nice to have the $500 back in our wallets.

Anyhow, while at Target, we also purchased some birthday gifts for our nephew, Micah (he turns 3 on May 1st). Well, as we were walking towards the check out area, something caught our eye and we took a little diversion to our normal shopping path. This diversion took us to a great sale on some fun outdoor stuff for Ava. Some of the stuff she can use now and some of it she can use next year (Santa stocked up on some fun things for her for Christmas). Here are some pictures of Little Miss Ava modeling two of her new presents. Matt says that she looks like Elton John, but I think she looks far cuter than a chubby gay Brit. What do you think?

Ava's new giraffe glasses...

Ava's new monkey glasses...by the way, these glasses just about cracked me up. They have these flip-up lenses that make her look like she has an extra set of monkey ears. Who knew such stylish shades could be so versatile?
