Ava and Her New Hat

Since James' birthday party, Ava has LOVED wearing her new hat. She thinks the hat is so funny and due to her being so cute in it, she has learned that when she wears it, people give her lots of attention. Oh my, the drama has begun!

Here are some pictures of Ava at the park last week. She just loves watching those silly ducks from her pram. I don't know what we'll do when it gets to hot to go to the park and/or when the ducks fly north/west/east to get out of the heat.

Matt always teases that Ava has bigger eyes than me. It's true and I just love 'em!

Mass Confusion

I have to apologize for the posting this week. What happens is I think of something I want to share with you and I type it in the 'Title' section of the blog posting. Then I save it so that I don't forget the thought (so when I have time later on in the day/week, I can complete the post). Well, when I do that the post is set to be published for the time that it was created. I can change the post date/time info to the date I actually finish the entry, but I forget to do it.

So...what I'm saying is that you'll have to scroll down our blog for new entries, as they most likely won't appear at the top of the blog. For example, I've added a bunch of stuff lately that will fall under the date of April 9th and not today's date, April 11th. Sorry!

I apologize for this inconvenience, and I'll try to remember to change the date/time stamp for the postings so that everything new will appear at the top. I can't make any promises, but I'll try my best!

Thanks for checking out our blog and for getting your daily dose of our Ava Bear. We think she's pretty amazing and we hope you do too...

Who's That Baby In The Mirror?

I know I've mentioned it before, but Ava LOVES looking at herself in the mirror. She would entertain herself in front of a mirror for hours if she could. This past Monday morning I was changing her nappy and her clothes and just like after every nappy change, Ava had to say, 'Good Morning' to the cure little girl who lives in the mirror. Since she can sit up on her own now, looking in the mirror is even more fun. Ava touches the mirror (think the movie, 'Ghost'), makes fists and hits the mirror, pushes the mirror with both hands, scratches at the mirror, tries to headbutt the mirror, makes incredibly funny faces at the mirror, flirts with the mirror, and tries to bite the girl who is looking at her on the face. If only she could just really touch that little girl who is looking at her...

Here's Ava giving a shout out to her peeps...

The kid has some serious muscle, as the mirror actually moves when she pushes on it like this...

I love this face. It's her innocent, 'will you be my friend?' face...

Every moment with Ava is an adventure and we are loving every single bit of it. Love doesn't even begin to describe how we feel about Ava. For once, I'm speechless.

Remotes Are Y-U-M-M-Y

Ava's new obsession is the remote control that goes to our DVR box. For some reason, she likes this (and only this) remote. We removed the batteries from an old remote and gave it to her to play with, but she doesn't want anything to do with it. She only wants the big remote that we actually use. Luckily, we have a stash of Clorox Anywhere, so we let her lick the remote as much as she wants. Here are some pictures of Ava with her new-found toy...

Saturday Fun

On April 5th, Ava attended her first birthday party. The party was for our friends' little boy, James. James was celebrating his 1st Birthday, so with the weather being nice, his party was held at a local park. Ava was too small to enjoy the games and festivities, but she was able to enjoy spending time with her Daddy atop her 'perch' watching the water balloon toss and 3-legged races. Miss Personality never ceases to make us laugh. Here are some pictures from James' birthday party at the park (and Ava's first time to wear her new sun hat)...

Matt had asked me to look up at Ava to see if she was happy or not. Well, when I looked up this is what I saw. I told Matt to stop because I needed to take a picture. She was so stinkin' cute chewing away at her chin-strap!

Here are Ava and Matt keeping James in the shade during the water balloon toss...
I think the bib says it all...

Driving Miss Daisy

At the end of March we decided to let Ava sit up in her pram when we walk to the park. That way she can look out at the environment around her while still encased in her bassinet full of toys. The only thing that is difficult about this new way of travel is that everyone stops us to see Ava. That means that our walks take longer and she gets tired faster.

Anyhow, here are some pictures of Miss Ava. We laugh because we call her 'Miss Daisy' (from the movie) when she sits like this. I think she thinks she's royalty or something. These first pictures are of Ava in her pram right before we left the house. She was so excited to get to sit up for our walk. I had to put a hat on her though, as it was sunny and I didn't want her to get sunburned. This is the second time she had ever worn a summer hat. It was a bit big on her, so I had to turn up the brim in the front so that she could see...she loved it!

Here's Ava with all her toys...

Welcome to our world of sweet and funny faces...there's never a dull moment in the day...

Finally, we're on our way to the park. I had to tell Ava that frogs catch bugs with their mouths, not cute babies...

So, she opted for a toy instead...

More cute and funny faces...

Ava LOVES the ducks at the park. She wanted to take one home with her one day but her Daddy told her that there was no where to put it in our house. That's when she suggested the bathtub...

Ava had had enough of sitting up...she was ready to lay down, look cute, and play with her toys...

It wasn't long before it was pacifier time...which meant that she was getting sleepy...although, she did manage to keep smiling despite the pacifier in her mouth...

Ava decided it was time for a game of Peek-A-Boo before calling it an afternoon and taking her nap...
